The aviation industry presents unique working environments whereby staff are often called upon to manage difficult situations in confined spaces and without additional resources. The PCC training team are able to assist by providing communications, safety and tactics training to aircrew and with the credibility of instructors coming directly from the Federal Police Air Security Officer (Air-Marshal) program into the group.
PCC deliver Aircrew security training to airline staff, both flight attendants and pilots, fulfilling all compliance and regulatory requirements as per section 4.70 of the Australian transport security regulations (ATSR) 2005. In 2014, PCC commenced as the winning tender to provide AST to a major Australian airline and together with the companies internal team are achieving some great results.
As with all mass-transit hubs, PCC are able to provide enhanced capability at Melbourne and other major airports amongst security and enforcement professionals in the early recognition of threats to the environment as well as strategies for prevention, response and resolution. Whilst in a Federal policing role PCC instructors trained AFP officers in Behavioural targeting and questioning techniques allowing for the recognition and interception of those with criminal intent within the airport precinct. The training, being the only of its kind in Australia, is now available to PCC clients with a demonstrated need and offered by sister company, bTAQ Pty ltd. This training is also suitable for all major transit hubs such as train, bus and ferry.
The PCC team provide training to ferry security officers and front line staff with TT Lines (Spirit of Tasmania) and front line teams from Metro Trains who also work in a challenging and unique space. Additionally, PCC work with staff within the transport compliance arena including VicRoads, Taxi Service Commission and Transport Safety Victoria.
Courses of instruction are available across all transport sectors where staff have the potential to be confronted with dangerous situations, including escort tasks and the protection of people and assets. This includes high risk transport and escort training – ground / air / sea.
